Who We Are
We are a part of America’s Boating Club
America's Boating Club® is a registered trademark of United States Power Squadrons®, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. For more than 100 years, we have worked to make the water a safer place through boating education, civic service and fellowship. With the United States Power Squadrons, you can improve your boating skills and knowledge online, in the classroom with certified instructors, or outdoors with hands-on training. By joining America’s premier boating organization, you can have fun with other boaters on the water and on land! America's Boating Club has over 20,000 members who are boaters and boating families organized into more than 300 squadrons across the country.

Deception Pass Sail & Power Squadron is a part of USPS District 16, which consists of fifteen local squadrons throughout Washington, Alaska and Idaho. The district leadership provides guidance and coordination among the squadrons.
The Deception Pass squadron began as a branch of the Bellingham Sail & Power Squadron, which was incorporated in 1959, and received its own squadron charter in 1976. Originally called the Deception Pass Power Squadron, the name was changed in 1976 to include “Sail.” Our geographic area includes Whidbey and Fidalgo Islands.
